He's a learning boy...

Daniel will be 5 months this Wednesday! I am always amazed at how fast the month just flies by! Daniel has taken some huge leaps forward in what he can do now. He is now able to switch toys from one hand to another, roll over both from his tummy & his back, and he can jump - both while being held & in his jumperoo,which he LOVES. He is beginning to sit on his own, though only for a few seconds at a time. He is putting EVERYTHING possible into his mouth! He is also "talking" & shrieking happily to just about everyone who pays attention to him.
The main struggle lately has been his napping...he doesn't want to! Eddie & I have begun working on that area this week & so far, Daniel is doing better. We still have a little ways to go, but we're off to a good start. The other issue continues to be car rides. He only tolerates about 10-20 minutes, depending on his mood, before he is one very unhappy passenger! We think that he just doesn't like having a seat belt on & maybe the going backward sensation...who knows! We have found that he likes children's music by Raffi (a musical artist from the late 80's & early 90's), so we make sure to bring that along to stall him a little longer in the car.
He is still a huge blessing & joy to our lives. As for Eddie & I...
God has blessed Eddie with contract work for about one month now!!! We have been so excited about that. We are praying for more work or a permanent type job, so I can stay home. We know God will continue to provide for us.
We have joined a couples small group on Sunday evenings. It has been so nice to get to know some new people. We have already gotten together for dinner a few times with some of the couples.
I went to a New Mother's Tea this past weekend, which was very nice. Daniel came with me & he allowed a bunch of ladies to hold him, without any protest. He jabbered & shrieked happily to each of them, charming them with smiles & his general cuteness (okay, sorry, totally partial mommy here!). Meanwhile, I was given a break & enjoyed getting to know some other ladies with new babies.
