Our first ultrasound!!!!

I had a doctor appointment this morning to get a check-up & an ultrasound. Everything is looking great! Praise God! The baby has a strong heartbeat and....we are further along than originally thought. The estimate as of today is that I am actually 12-14 weeks along instead of 10 weeks. Wow! They were only expecting to take head to rump measurements this morning, so I am going to get more exact measurements taken on Friday morning. That means another picture of our sweet little one!
We were so excited to see our first glimpse of his or her little head, body, arms & legs! It's amazing! The picture we received this morning is below.
I will be sure to post the new one on Friday:)

In case you are unsure...the head is on the right, body on the left...you can even see little arms!

Not much to report...

Not too much is new this week. I am off of work for the next 2 weeks, which I am really looking forward to. The pregnancy seems to be going fine so far. This week, I wasn't nauseous nearly as much, but I did have heartburn quite a bit. I have really been careful about what I am eating, so that has helped a lot. Although, sometimes I get heartburn anyways. Oh, well! I do the best I can.
We went to a Christmas party on Friday evening, which was a lot of fun. We've had a variety of Christmas music playing the past week as well, so that's getting us both in the Christmas spirit :) I will be baking cookies on Monday & Tuesday. On Christmas Eve, I will be making our traditional homemade cinnamon rolls for Christmas breakfast!
It should be a very fun filled week!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday, Eddie!

So yesterday was Eddie's birthday!
We started celebrating last night by going out for sushi with some friends (No, I didn't have sushi). Eddie hasn't been out for real sushi in over a year, so this was a real treat :)

After dinner, there was homemade chocolate chip cheesecake made at Eddie' request :) It was a great time with friends and yummy food!
Today, we went to Atlanta to visit the Centennial Olympic Park, the World of Coca-Cola & the Georgia Aquarium. It was really cold when we left this morning (27 degrees!!!!). The drive was only about 25 minutes from where we live :)

Even though it was cold, it was fun to just walk around & see the sights

After our walk, it was on the the World of Coca-Cola.

Here's Mr. Pemberton (the creator of Coca-Cola) handing Eddie a glass ;P

This was the coolest costume we had ever seen - the eyes & mouth could move to make expressions. We checked out the various exhibits & tasted around 60 different Coke products (not all of them were Coca-Cola).
Then we went to the Georgia Aquarium...

What makes this aquarium special is that they have whale sharks!
They are HUGE and amazing to watch.

Eddie got to touch some of the rays they have in their "touching pond".
There are A LOT more photos, but I won't bore you with all of them. :)
After the aquarium, we ended the day with lunch at The Varsity, which is a hot dog/hamburger type place, that is a landmark/icon in Atlanta. It has actually been featured on the Food Network before, so of course we had to go to check it out. It WAS indeed an experience (a good one).

It was a fun day overall & we are hoping to go check out more of the Atlanta sights soon:)

News!!!!!

We are pregnant! About 6 1/2 weeks according to the doctor, which means that somewhere around July 29th, 2009 we'll be welcoming a new addition to the family, God willing:)
Needless to say we are very excited!
So far, I've just felt a little sick on & off (some days are better than others), as well as being tired. Eddie, as usual, has been great about helping me where needed and letting me get plenty of sleep :) He is definitely looking forward to the new addition!
We'll be getting our first ultrasound at the beginning of January, which we are looking forward to.
We'll be keeping you posted as much as we can.
