Spring has sprung...

Ok, ok, I know…I haven’t been keeping up with the blog AGAIN.  Sorry!
So here are some highlights of the last few months:
Enjoying the outdoors with Daddy
He wanted to try on Aunt Laura's rain boots.  Too cute!

December – We celebrated Eddie’s birthday with a fun lunch.  It even snowed on his birthday!  Christmas was lots of fun this year since Daniel was very much aware of all the decorations.  On Christmas morning he noticed the presents under the tree right away (we didn’t put any presents there before the big day).  Once he figured out the whole idea of what opening presents was about, he had a lot of fun.  The rest of the day was spent with my family.  We ended the day by singing Christmas carols together – complete with instruments.  Daniel was able to join in with a toy ukulele.  So cute!

I think he liked the Legos!

A fun new toy!
January brought not only a new year, but some very unusual weather – LOTS OF SNOW!  The second week of January we got 6 inches of snow overnight!  It literally shut down most of the Atlanta area for the majority of the week.  Since the Atlanta area doesn’t get regular snow storms like that they haven’t invested in very many snow plows, so we had to wait until warmer temperatures melted the icy roads.
Daniel finally got his second to last tooth – it took almost 3 months to arrive!  Ugh!  We ended the month with a trip to my parents’ house that included Daniel meeting a horse.  He absolutely loved seeing the horse & petting its nose.
We woke up to this!  This is looking out from our balcony.

Daniel decided, on his own, that he wanted to eat the snow on our balcony
He liked it until his mouth got too cold
After a few days of being cooped up inside, we decided to take a short walk.  It was fun, but Daniel didn't like falling in the snow - too cold!
February was chilly at first, but we finally got some warmer weather toward the end of the month.  Yeah!  Since it was warmer, we took some weekend trips to the local park as well as some evening walks around our neighborhood.  Daniel absolutely loves to be outside.  He truly prefers walking & running to the stroller!
My birthday was toward the end of the month.  Eddie made sure to make it special with a night off from cooking & presents.  We celebrated with my family the following weekend.  My sister made a delicious Paula Deen strawberry cake.  Yum!

Absolutely delicious!
Taking a fun walk at a local park
March started off with a fun trip to the Georgia Aquarium with Eddie, Aunt Laura, & I.  Daniel enjoyed seeing all of the underwater creatures.
This was Daniel's reaction to the fish after our arrival.   It was funny because all I had to say was, "Daniel" & he would look at the camera and smile with this cute grin.

Wow!

These are flowers from a Saucer Magnolia right outside the aquarium.  So pretty!
Some friends of ours welcomed their first baby this month as well.  Daniel has been very fascinated with visiting baby Claire.  Each time we’ve visited, he’s been so gentle & sweet.
Here are some other photos from this month.
Daniel's first independent Lego design...no help from Mommy or Daddy!

Pretty good for an almost 2-year old!

Daniel wanted to put on these overalls, so we couldn't resist the photo op!

Our little engineer!
