Reminiscing

So, tomorrow would have been my grandma's 90th birthday. My grandpa would have been 92 on the 24th. I don't know why, but I have been thinking of them a lot lately. I wish they had been able to meet Daniel. I know they would have enjoyed that so much. My grandma & grandpa were some of the best people around. Sure, maybe I am biased. But, after attending my grandma's memorial service last year, I don't think so. They touched so many people's lives.
For me? I remember baking brownies with my grandma in her kitchen. For some reason I remember her teaching me how to scrape the side of the bowl with the spatula. I remember her arranging flowers for her church every week and helping her in her garden. She was amazing in so many ways! My grandpa was extremely creative and artistic. He designed their basement to resemble a log cabin. He always made time to let me in his workshop to design something new or just hammer some nails for fun. I also loved getting to dance with him while standing on his feet.
My grandparents left a last impression on my life. I miss them terribly, but I look forward to a day when we can be reunited. I am so thankful for that!
I hope & pray that I can leave even half of the impression they left on my life. Two of the songs I added this month are songs my grandpa & I used to dance to when they would visit.
