A First Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas with Daniel! It was such a special day having our sweet little guy with us this year. We started the morning off listening while Eddie read the Christmas story from the book of Luke. Then we headed for the stockings. Daniel really enjoyed looking at his stocking, which has a train on it, much more than the contents. Next, we opened presents from under the tree. Daniel seemed to really enjoy trying to eat the wrapping paper :)

One of the presents he received, a stacking-type toy has proven to be quite the hit (Although you can't tell from the picture since he was busy "telling" us something with his cute sounds)

At this point, he took his morning nap. Then Eddie & I were ate our traditional Christmas breakfast of homemade cinnamon rolls. The recipe turned out delicious as usual. In the afternoon, we headed to my family's for more fun & Christmas dinner. There were more presents, a game, and a yummy dinner. It was a busy, full day, but lots of fun!
In other news...
Daniel had his 6-month check-up a couple weeks ago. He now weighs 15 lbs & is 26-1/2 inches long. Aside from the cold he had at the time of the check-up, the doctor said he is healthy & doing great. Praise God!
We have continued trying to get Daniel to eat solid foods. He doesn't like most things that we've tried. The only thing he has liked, so far is chicken. Go figure! Hopefully, soon we'll turn a new leaf with solids & he'll start liking them.
As for milestones, he's now: crawling, sitting independently, & pulling himself up to STANDING from the sitting position (as of Christmas Day). He just seems to be growing & changing at lightning speed!
Daniel woke up on Christmas Eve with his first tooth! He's been a little more "clingy" than usual with mommy & has had a runny nose off & on, so we knew it had to be arriving soon. We've been on the lookout for anymore that are trying to come in.
The weather here has turned "wintery". As I write this, it is 41 degrees outside & it's already after 2pm, so I don't think it will be getting much "warmer". Hopefully in the next week, we'll have a few days that are warm enough to go outside (for a few minutes at least).
