On Friday, Eddie & I drove up to Virginia. It was a looonnngg drive - 10 hours, but we made it :) We stayed with my Aunt Susan, Uncle Ted & my cousins. I hadn't seen some of them in over 10 years! It was great to see them.
On Saturday, Valentine's Day, we headed to my Grandma's memorial service. It was so appropriate to have the service on that day since she loved flowers & made many beautiful arrangements. The service was a wonderful tribute to my Grandma's life. So many people came, that the chapel was full. She had such a positive impact on each & every person she came in contact with.
After the service, the family headed to my grandparents' house to visit since many of us had not seen each other in many years. Eddie & I hung out with my cousins for most of the day. We had a great time. The best part for me, was watching (no, I didn't play) the cousins play kickball in my grandparents' backyard. I know both of my grandparents would have loved to watch all of us playing together & having a great time. That night, my Aunt Susan drove my sister, cousin, Eddie & I into Washington, D.C. (about 20 minutes away) to see some of the buildings all lit up at night. It was beautiful!
On Sunday, my mom, aunt, 2 cousins, my sister, my brother, Eddie & I all went to Washington, D.C. to see some of the sights. It was Eddie's first time getting to visit. We went to the Museums of American History, Natural History, & the Air & Space Museum. Both Eddie & I had a wonderful time, but were definitely tired when the day came to an end.
On Monday morning, it was time to head back home to Georgia. The drive went well.
We had a wonderful visit with our family in Virginia, but it sure was great to get home. We are hoping to visit again & see more sights.
