In January, we decided to prepare to move to a new apartment, which would provide a little more space, a better floor plan, and most importantly would be much more affordable. God provided us with just the right one. So, now flash forward to March. We moved the last weekend in March, so we spent most of the month packing. Thankfully, since it was a local move, the packing didn’t have to be as intensive & detailed as the last time. Still, it was a lot of work! We are so thankful to the wonderful friends & family who helped us with the hard work! Now, we’ve been at our new place for a little over 2 weeks & we are unpacked!!! Not completely settled, mind you, but unpacked. Daniel settled in pretty quickly. The first night was a little rough since he was in an unfamiliar room, but he was fine after that.
As for Daniel, since my last update, he has turned 9 and now 10 months old!!! Yikes! His first birthday is just a couple months away! It’s hard to believe. He is “cruising” (i.e. walking while holding on to furniture and anything to keep him standing) all over the place. He loves to eat baby oatmeal, bananas, apples, pears, prunes, peaches, mangoes, sweet potatoes, cheerios, crackers, and the newest item…Baby Mum-Mums (basically a baby rice crisp). His word for both Eddie & I is “Mom-mom”. He can clap his hands, wave (when he chooses to), sign “more”, say “Ha” for “Hi”, push a ball or toy while crawling, & stand on his own for up to 20 seconds (so far). He has recently started making a "baba" sound. He loves to “play” with our cat & she actually enjoys this, too. She will walk in front of him & wait until he just reaches out for her, then she’ll walk a little further & look back at him. When he just barely reaches her, she walk a little further. This continues until one of them tires of the game. It’s really cute to watch. She is really good with him. When she’s had enough, she just walks, runs, or jumps out of harm’s way. After a rough round of teething, he finally has his two top teeth (for a total of 4). Another activity Daniel has taken to is shrieking (happily), especially when he comes to a room or area of our home where there’s an echo. It’s rather amusing.
Easter was fun this year. The Easter Bunny filled up eggs with Cheerios & then spread them all over the floor in our living room. Daniel figured out how to open them right away & then, of course proceeded to eat the Cheerios. He also received a new bath toy & book. He especially loves the book, which has different textures to touch (soft “fur”, green “grass”, smooth “rock”, etc). After our egg “hunt”, we headed to my family’s house for a delicious meal of lamb chops, ribs, mashed potatoes, asparagus, rolls, salad, homemade strawberry pie & cherry pie. It was delicious.
Well, I think that brings y’all up to date for now. Here are some photos from the past couple months.
